My name is Sonia Callahan. I am the owner and operator of A Small World Family Childcare. This is a Family Oriented Childcare Facility with a current Student/Teacher ratio of 6:1. This makes for an effective learning environment, allowing the teacher to focus on individual student progress, and assist as individual needs arise.
We engage in many learning activities in both group settings and individually.
With our age appropriate curriculum we engage in reading, writing,science and math. We have "Circle Time" for reading, and desk time for writing. We teach basic math with books and hands on with objects. Our goal is that each child enters kindergarten well-equipped.We also engage in natural science, social science, math and literature. We do nature walks, observing birds, bugs, turtles, leaves and etc. We learn of how change occurs over time. With social science we learn getting alone, working together, taking turns, sharing, kindness, and empathy. The children make rapid progress.
